Khavi, John and Manan Named National Merit Commended Students!

The Wheatley School community is pleased to announce that three of our students have been named Commended Students in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. These students are:

  • Khavi Ahmed
  • John Scudero
  • Manan Shukla

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2019 competition for National Merit Scholarships, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2019 competition by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

The outstanding performance of three eight students speaks to their academic talents and educational commitment. We wish them the best as they continue to pursue their educational opportunities!

Abdullah Named National Merit Commended Student!

One Dozen Wheatley Students Recognized as National Merit Commended Students!

The Wheatley School community is pleased to announce that twelve of our students have been named Commended Students in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. These students are: Gabriel Besada, Jessie Cao, Arihant Jain, Haseeb Jangda, Samantha Leong, Julian Nathan, Jeffrey Poomkudy, Ashwin Reddy, Andrew Schloss, Christopher Shen, Jaclyn Stroud and Cindy Zhou.

Lauren Perry Celebrated by EWSD BOE!

At January’s Board of Education meeting, Lauren Perry, a member of the Class of 2014, was formally recognized for the research that  enabled her to be named an Intel Semi Finalist earlier this month. Introduced by Mr. Casamento, our District Director of Science and Technology, Lauren proceeded to give a brief overview of her impressive research, which she undertook at Boston University. Congratulations to Lauren! Thanks to Wheatley’s Science Research Coordinator, Thomas Van Bell!
