After missing an in person Showdown last year, students were excited to begin competing on this first day of Showdown2021. With a guaranteed new winner of this year’s Showdown trophy, each class sensed an opportunity for victory.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 safety protocols will prevent this year’s Showdown competition from holding some of the signature events: including Lego Building, Puzzle Making and Banner Making. That said, there were still activities and excitement!
On Day 1, the classes competed in the following activities:
- WSTV Trivia (“Measure for Measure” edition)
- PJ Day
- Simon competition
Additionally, students participated in our Coins v Bills competition, our Book Fairies collection, and a food donation.
During the morning trivia competition, Madhi Bhalloo came on strong for the 10th graders, leading them to a solid victory over the 11th, 9th, 12th and 8th grades.
The Simon Game challenge was dominated by the 11th grade, followed by the 12th, 8th, 9th and 10th grades.
Our 12th graders dominated attendance at Tri-M’s Wheatley Factor. They were followed by the 11th, 9th, 8th and 10th grades. The competition was won by the Bacon Boys.
