Wheatley is fortunate to have a supportive and engaging group of parents. Throughout a “normal” school year, the Wheatley PTO supports our students and faculty through after-school food sales, a Welcome Back Breakfast to start the school year, our Senior Sunrise, breakfast offerings during the testing period, and mini-grants throughout the year.
One of the most special occasions, however, is the Staff Appreciation Luncheon that the PTO hosts each year. Last year, this luncheon was scheduled to take place on 12 March—the day before Wheatley closed down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Needless to say, last year’s event was canceled.
To adapt the event to the current COVID-19 constraints, the PTO prepared pre-ordered grab-and-go boxes for each staff member. Each box had a delicious sandwich, a wonderful cookie treat, a bag of chips and a seltzer.
We are so thankful for the wonderful support of our parents.
