Earlier today, Wheatley held its 63rd Commencement Exercises — this year in celebration of the Class of 2020! Due to the ongoing constraints on outdoor ceremonies imposed during this COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony took place “drive-in style” in our parking lot, with graduates and their families remaining in their vehicles until it was time to receive their diploma. Unlike any of the previous sixty-two Commencement Exercises, families stayed with their graduate during the ceremony, and two members of the family were allowed to accompany the graduate to receive the diploma.
The ceremony featured Emily Gothelf performing the National Anthem, and Dean Sheinman, Ashley Vincenzo, Rahul Ajmera and Brenda Zhong giving student speeches. It was an intimate, unique ceremony befitting this wonderful graduating class.
Congratulations to all of the graduates and their families!
