Congratulations to Talia Rosen, a member of the Class of 2018, for having been selected for a 2017 Achievement Award in Writing given by the National Council of Teachers of English, one of the most prestigious writing awards in America for a high school student.
Talia earned this recognition for her writing as a Junior.
The NCTE Achievement Awards in Writing were established in 1957 to encourage high school students in their writing and to recognize some of the best student writers in the nation. Students are nominated by their school during their junior year, submit samples of their writing, and are judged by a panel from NCTE on the content, purpose, audience, tone, word choice, organization, development, and style of their submissions.
Talia, who is also a student in our School Within a School (SWS), was the English department’s unanimous choice for our school’s nomination and was one of the 106 students nationwide to receive this honor.
Congratulations to Talia for this wonderful recognition! Thanks to Mr. Collier for supporting her nomination and providing the write-up!
