On Friday evening, our Cancer Awareness, Research and Education (CARE) Club held its 7th Annual “Runway for a Cure” fashion show to support the Sunrise Day Camp, the country’s only dedicated full-time summer day camp for children. Funds were raised through ticket sales to the event and donation baskets from local companies. This year, a highlight of the event was the “Pie in the Face” fundraiser. As part of this, four faculty members (Mike Dunn, Christina Cambria, Ashley Rogala and me) agreed to have pies thrown in our face if sufficient funds were raised on the spot. Needless to say, sufficient funds were raised and we were all “pied” by overly enthusiastic students!
This year’s event over $4,000 for the camp, with the total still increasing! We are thankful to the CARE Club officers and the the club’s co-advisor, Christina Cambria and Dawn Muscanera.
