For the second year in a row, Newsday selected Allison LaMonica as a Top 50 Long Island Girls Basketball Player for the upcoming season! You can view the article at:
In the words of her coach, Ashley Rogala:
I have the privilege of witnessing Allie’s greatness in practices and games every day and can tell you that this recognition is more than deserved. Allie recently broke the school record for points scored in a game for girls basketball when she scored 49 points against South Side in a 69-60 win. The original record was 42 points held by Lee Cirrino in 1993. What is most impressive is Allie made 15 of her 19 shots from the floor and 19 of her 20 free throws! It is the best performance I have seen by a high school girl in basketball and I have played and been around the game for a long time!
Congratulations to Allie for this wonderful recognition!
