Fall 2016 Athletic Highlights!

Last week, we held our Fall Athletics awards during which our fall teams and athletes were celebrated and recognized. A highlight of the evening is the Sports Highlight Tape, created by our Video Club.

Mr. Fitzpatrick, our Director of PE, Athletics and Medical Services, provided the following overview of our Fall athletics season.

At the time of this release, The Wheatley School is proud to announce that 32 student athletes have been recognized by Section VIII-Nassau County Interscholastic Athletic Association for their exceptional performance in athletics, scholarship, and leadership qualities for the fall 2016 season.

For the fourth consecutive year the Girls Soccer team was Nassau County Class B Champions. The team also went on to capture the Long Island Class B Championship! The Boys Soccer team was Nassau County Class B Champions finalists. The Carle Place/Wheatley Football team finished second in Conference 4 this year, earning a playoff victory for the first time in the program’s history.

Throughout their high school career, these athletes demonstrated outstanding athletic and scholastic ability that has earned them a well-deserved reputation as leaders among their peers.
