On Friday, Jean-François Henley, our French teacher, accompanied his students on an afternoon field trip to a restaurant and a chocolate shop. The restaurant was Bistro Cassis in Huntington, while the chocolate shop was Bonbons Chocolatier.
The aim was to provide students with an opportunity to practice their French in an authentic setting. Additionally, the visit to the chocolatier showed students the process involved in chocolate making as well as the ability to interact (in French) with Monsieur Eric who is a French born and trained pastry chef specializing in chocolate.
