On Friday, five of our students spent the day competing in the Feinstein Institute’s Medical Marvels Challenge.
The Medical Marvels Program was established in 2013 by The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research and the Center for Workforce Readiness. The purpose is to encourage Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) career pathways for Long Island High School Students in 9th and 10th grades.
The 2016 theme of the Medical Marvels Challenge was the “Promotion of Health and Wellness in a Multicultural World.” Teams of students were required to submit a proposal and then prepare a poster and oral presentation. This year’s Wheatley competitors were:
- Dina Aldad
- Lauren Druz
- Lainey Fordin
- Michelle Raja
- Brooke Schwartz
When the awards were announced at the end of the day, the Wheatley team received an Honorable Mention! Congratulations to the team, and thanks for our Science Research Coordinator, Alexis Blondrage!
