Art and Technology Class Builds a Custom Adirondack Chair!

For the past several years, Wheatley’s Art and Technology (AnT) class has been an important part of the work done within the Life Skills program. As part of this class, Ms. Donovan (one of our Art teachers) and Mr. Chisholm (one of our Technology teachers) collaborate with the Life Skills students to work on projects and skills related to these areas.

Over the past few months, the students have worked on building a custom Adirondack chair for the Life Skills Garden. Following standard instructions for such a chair, the students have cut and put together the necessary pieces to create the chair. As part of the design of the chair, they selected photos of some of the more memorable experiences and prepared them to be transferred onto the chair. With a good coating of polyurethane,  the chair will be a magical place in which to sit!

Coming soon: photos of the finished project! For now, enjoy the work in progress…
