With much success, the 33rd Annual SWS Mock Trial Competition took place yesterday. With nearly 130 students in attendance, seven schools (Syosset, Glen Cove, Roslyn, Great Neck North, Kellenberg, Manhasset and Baldwin) joined three Wheatley teams (including one from our SWS program) for a day of prosecution and defense centered around a realistic court case overseen by actual judges.
Organized by Mr. Patrick Clarke and supported by Mr. Bob Bernstein and Mr. Matthew Haig, this Mock Trial provides Mock Trial Teams with an opportunity to fine-tune their courtroom arguments and maneuvers in preparation for the beginning of the New York State mock trial competition.
At the end of a long and intense day of competition, Wheatley edged out Roslyn in the final round! Good luck to all of the teams as they compete in this year’s Mock Trial Competition!
