On Thursday afternoon, our School Within-A-School (SWS) program departed for Washington, D.C. for its annual community trip to begin the school year. Part community-building experience, part history related field trip, these annual trips play a pivotal role in setting the tone for the year. In Washington, DC, students were able to enjoy the history and culture of the city in a fun and engaging setting. This year, the trip found them in the U.S. Capital Building at the very time Speaker Boehner announced his resignation for 30 October.
On the way to Washington, DC, the SWS students and faculty encountered our AP Core program, which was also spending a few days in DC!
Thank you to the teachers who accompanied the students on this trip: Pat Clarke, Steve Fitzko, Jennifer Fatone, Michael Dunn, Steven Collier, Natalia McMillian, Birthe Seferian and Daniel Burke.
