Wheatley is fortunate to have a strong partnership with the Long Island Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence (LICADD), a tremendous resource in our back yard! Over the years, professionals from LICADD have presented to students, parents and our guidance staff. On Tuesday, Brittany Becker, one of the Community Education and Prevention Specialists at LICADD, shared some of the newest drug trends with the staff during our faculty meeting. In an engaging and informative presentation, Brittany provided information on how this newest generation of drugs can often be hidden in plain sight: in a gummy bear, a baked good or even a pen!
