Our AP Core students spend Friday enjoying the historic landmarks of Philadelphia. Just a few weeks ago, the AP Core classes held a debate as to which Founding Father deserved a memorial. On Friday, they were able to connect their studies of the American Revolution to the location where central to so much of our nation’s early history!
Students visited Independence Hall, Congress Hall, the Liberty Bell and the National Constitution Center to see shows and museums. They had the opportunity to eat at the historic Reading Market. Thanks to our National Park Rangers, the students had terrific tours of the Pennsylvania Courthouse. Although the second floor of this courthouse is open only on limited occasions, the National Park Service opened the floor for our Wheatley students.
The students were led on the trip by AP Core teachers Dr. Staudt, Mr. Ardito, and Mr. McKenna. Our Science teacher Ms. Gurick also helped lead the trip!
Update: Mr. McKenna posted some additional photos on his AP Core blog!
