EAC Students Remove Non-Indigenous Species from the Wheatley Woods

Wheatley’s Environmental Action Club (EAC) is an active force at Wheatley. It helps raise awareness of issues related to the environment, it spearheaded Wheatley’s recycling initiatives, and it sponsors the annual Earth Week festivities. Last week, EAC members spent Wednesday afternoon in the Wheatley Woods.

Under the guidance of the club advisor, Mr. Finkelstein, students helped to remove non indigenous species in order to make room for native plants and prairie grass. Students will be continuing some of this work in the Wheatley Woods during our Day of Service and Learning on 22 October.
