Celebrating Excellence with the Nassau County Superintendents!

On Friday morning, 6 June, two of Wheatley’s stars from the Class of 2014 came together with the Valedictorians and Salutatorians of all of Nassau County’s public high schools for recognition by the Nassau County Council of School Superintendents.

Although Wheatley does not name a valedictorian or salutatorian, we send two Honor Students to represent our school at this wonderful event. (The Honor Students are selected by the Wheatley Scholarship Committee, with the criteria of high academic achievement and outstanding ethical behavior.)

This year’s Honor Students were Jacob Freund and Lauren Perry.

As part of this recognition, Jacob and Lauren were invited (with their parents) to join me and Dr. Kanas, our Superintendent, at a lovely breakfast and ceremony at the Crest Hollow Country Club. They received a terrific plaque to recognize their accomplishment in high school. Congratulations to Lauren and Jacob!
