Thanks to Mr. Meyers, we have the results from last week’s Nassau Mathematics Tournament!
On Friday, 7 February, the Nassau County Interscholastic Math League (NCIML) hosted its 31st annual Nassau Math Tournament (the NMT). The Wheatley School sent three teams to the NMT. One Lower Division comprised of five sophomores and two Upper Division teams (one five Junior team and one five Senior team) competed.
The Lower Division team finished in 7th place. The Lower Division team was comprised of Krista Chen, Mohammad Khanzada, Christopher Shen , Cindy Zhou and Andrew Zuckerman. In 10th grade, Krista finished in 14th place overall and Andrew finished in 2nd place.
One Upper Division team finished in 15th place. The Upper Division team was comprised of Justin Borczuk, Matt Huhn, Joe Jacob, Paul Kim and Tao Zeng. In 12th grade, Paul Kim finished in 3rd place overall and Joe Jacob finished in 6th place. The other team of Juniors did not finish in the top 20. They were Anthony Graffigna, Ben Lee, Ziv Lotzky, Seung Min Yi and Kuan Yu.
