Science Olympiad Team Qualifies for States!

Congratulations to the Wheatley Science Olympiad team!  On Saturday, 1 February, the team competed against 39 other teams in the Nassau East Regional Science Olympiad Finals at Syosset High School.  The team, comprised of seniors Michael Lituchy, Allison Chowdhury, Anum Mitha, Joseph Jacob, Aakash Jhaveri, and Davin Bahk; juniors Courtney Schwartz, Rohan Gulati, Seung min Yi; and sophomores Andrew Zuckerman, Arihant Jain, Jeffrey Poomkudy, Krista Chen, and Christopher Shen participated in all 22 science events that ran at the Regional competition.

The Wheatley team did exceptionally well, and was one of five teams at the competition to advance to the State Finals in March (at Kellenberg High School). The winner of the State Competition earns the right to represent New York State in the National Competition in Orlando in May.

Congratulations to the students, as well as our Science Olympiad Co-Advisors: Tom Van Bell and Thomas Storck.
