Nassau County Recognizes Wheatley

Earlier this Spring, Wheatley was recognized by Nassau County for the work it has done through its annual Day of Service and Learning. For the past three years, one of the service projects completed during this Day of Service is a clean-up of the Veterans Memorial Plaza at Eisenhower Park.

On Friday, members of the local VFW accompanied a representative from Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano’s office to present Wheatley with the formal Citation. This particular activity from the Day of Service and Learning has been organized and led by two members of our Social Studies department: Matthew Haig and Michael Haig.
