Wheatley’s chapter of Key Club International held its annual Walk-A-Thon on Sunday, 23 October. A true family and community event, hundreds of residents of our school district showed up bright and early on a beautiful fall morning to lend their support to these worthy causes. After the 2.5 mile walk — one that began at Wheatley, passed by North Side and ended at Willets Road — there were plenty of activities to keep kids occupied.
By the end of the event, over $10,000 was raised for the following local charities:
- Habitat for Humanity
- Diabetes Research Institute
- Kamp Kiwanis
- North Shore Animal League
- UCP’s Children’s Learning Center
We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of our Key Club students and advisors.
