Technology 8 Students Work for those in Need

After a two week unit on machine and tool safety, our Technology 8 students were assigned their first major woodworking project.  This project was a miniature knock hockey table.  Our students were informed about how manufacturing systems work.  Under the direction of teachers Thomas Storck, Paul Chisholm and Patrick Hurley, the classrooms were turned into a manufacturing facility to mass-produce as many knock hockey tables as possible in one week.  We decided that all of our finished tables would be donated to the Interfaith Nutrition Network to be given to underprivileged children during the holiday season.  With hard work and cooperation, our students were able to complete 55 nicely packaged knock hockey tables.
